
Mark D. Sisson, MSEd, LPCC
At Cedarwood Counseling Services, Mark works with adults and older adolescents on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and trauma. He engages with clients to create a warm, genuine, and supportive therapeutic environment, and helps increase psychological flexibility and awareness, clarify values, and set meaningful goals for action. Mark has helped hundreds of clients with career development, coaching, and change. Other professional interests include men’s issues, gender and sexual orientation, identity development, and working with creative people (artists, musicians, writers, etc.).
Before going into private practice, Mark worked as a counselor in a community mental health agency, a public school, and a university counseling center. Prior to counseling, Mark had a long career in education as a teacher and career advisor.
Mark has a lifelong love for music, builds instruments, and has performed in bands for over 40 years.


Susan C. Wawrose, MSEd, JD, LPCC
As a therapist, Susan’s approach is engaged, collaborative, and compassionate. She uses evidence-based approaches to help clients identify their core strengths and values, gain greater awareness of what is working–and not working–in their lives, and identify paths for meaningful change. Susan works with adults on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, aging, grief, and loss. She also enjoys working with women’s issues, including family and career. Susan came to mental health counseling after a long career in higher education and brings to her practice a keen understanding of the stressors and concerns unique to high-achieving students and professionals.
Susan earned her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton’s School of Education and Health Sciences and completed her clinical training at the University of Dayton’s Counseling Center. She is also a graduate of Wellesley College and the Northeastern University School of Law.
